For half-face demos, I keep a tiny ‘PSI cheat card’ on my keychain and run water-based base at 12–14 PSI, then bump to about 18 for spot-correcting; a quick 20 PSI burst clears clogs between steps. If your compressor surges, an inline MAC valve is quicker than menu-diving, and on palettes I add a thin silicone sheet under pans — even with the new ‘locking mechanisms’ — so they don’t go ice skating in my kit.
Quick trick: I lay a 3 mm strip of 3M Micropore down the midline, do the glam side, then do a quick ‘peel reveal’ so the edge reads super crisp on camera and IRL. De-tack the tape on your wrist first and skip it on sensitized skin; if adhesives are a no-go, press a silicone spatula along the midline as a guide instead.
